Bradenton Public Market on Old Main Street: Your Fall 2026 Guide

October 15, 2026

The Bradenton Public Market is back on Old Main Street for its October through May season, Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Two downtown stops on Manatee Avenue and Ninth Street West have gone dark since summer. The new arrivals and the busiest fall programming sit to the south, along 12th and 14th Street West toward the Village of the Arts. On four Saturdays between now and early November, the Village has its own events on market days, three of them overlapping market hours.

So the usual Saturday this fall starts on Old Main as always. Afterward, it tends to head south.

Two familiar stops closed on the north side

The biggest change for a market-morning routine came on Sept. 27. That day the Sage Biscuit Café closed its downtown location at 1401 Manatee Ave. W. The Bradenton Herald reported that the café said in a social media post that its 10-year lease had come up and the space would not continue as a restaurant. The Cortez Road location at 6656 Cortez Road W. is still open daily from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. The same ownership group runs the Spotted Rabbit Gastropub, which planned to add breakfast to its menu on Oct. 5.

A few blocks away, Motorworks Brewing at 1014 Ninth St. W. has been closed since early August. The brewery announced a temporary closure for what it called an "extensive remodel," while a foreclosure case was still in the courts. Its post said, "We hope to reopen on February 1, 2027, under new ownership and new management, with a refreshed space and an exciting new chapter ahead." No new operator for the taproom has been announced since then. Plan on Motorworks being closed through the rest of this market season's fall Saturdays.

Both closures came for different reasons, and neither has anything to do with the market. Together they take two familiar post-market stops off the north side of downtown.

The arrivals are on 12th and 14th Street West

The openings are on the streets running south from Old Main.

Business Address What changed When
Au P'tit Bonheur 312 12th St. W. New French café Opened this summer
Cottonmouth Southern Soul Food 1910 14th St. W., inside Flamingo Bay Brewing Moved from 1114 12th St. W. in the Village Partnership began in July
Sage Biscuit Café, downtown 1401 Manatee Ave. W. Closed; Cortez Road location remains Sept. 27
Motorworks Brewing 1014 Ninth St. W. Temporarily closed for remodel Since Aug. 4; targeting Feb. 1, 2027

Au P'tit Bonheur is the one market-goers can reach on foot. The address is 312 12th St. W. One Herald roundup listed it as 312 Old Main St. Either way, the café is on the market's own street. Fanette Maquet and her husband, Maq, own it. The Bradenton Herald's profile describes a menu of French classics: Croque Monsieur, Quiche Lorraine, Sandwich Parisien and croissants. "All our recipes are simple," Fanette told the Herald. "It's a family recipe." The couple came to Florida earlier this year and spent three months renovating the space before opening. The café also has room for private events.

Cottonmouth's move is the other change worth knowing. Dave Shiplett closed his restaurant and live music venue in the Village of the Arts in July. He partnered with Flamingo Bay Brewing Company at 1910 14th St. W., where the two now share space as a restaurant, brewery and live music venue. In a July Bradenton Herald report, Shiplett said the permanent move depended on Flamingo Bay building a stage and making improvements. "If you build a stage and some structures and so some landscaping where we make this beer garden into something nice, I'll move over here permanently," he said. That report expected full-time Cottonmouth service by October on Flamingo Bay's Wednesday through Sunday operating days, with exact dates and entertainment schedules to be posted on social media.

Flamingo Bay's website describes an outdoor, dog-friendly beer garden with food and music from Cottonmouth, on-site parking and weekly event posts. It does not list Cottonmouth's service hours. Check the brewery's posts before you go. Live music is on the calendar, though: the Chris Beard Band played there on Oct. 10 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. with a $10 cover.

Four Saturdays when the market and the Village share the day

Realize Bradenton's vendor map lists market Saturdays starting Oct. 17 and running weekly through December. The Village of the Arts has scheduled something on four of those Saturdays in a row:

  1. Saturday, Oct. 17. The Village's Third Saturday Market runs 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 1227 12th St. W., with free parking listed at the vacant 13th Ave. W. lot. The Village event starts two hours after the Public Market opens and keeps going two hours after it closes.
  2. Saturday, Oct. 24. A community plant swap in the Village, noon to 2 p.m.
  3. Saturday, Oct. 31. Halloween at the Market on Old Main in the morning. Then the Village's annual Trick-or-Treat in the Village that evening, 6 to 8 p.m.
  4. Saturday, Nov. 7. Day two of the free 22nd annual Festival of the Skeletons, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The festival opens Friday, Nov. 6, from 6 to 9 p.m. This year's program includes a Frida Kahlo tribute, altars, food trucks, music and vendors.

On each of these days, the walk down 12th Street West has a clear destination at both ends. The Public Market's own route, as the Bradenton Area Convention and Visitors Bureau describes it, starts at Manatee Avenue and runs toward the parking garage. Walking the length of it now leads toward the Village programming and the newer stops, not the Manatee Avenue address that used to be the default.

A note on timing. The visitor bureau's listing gives the season as Oct. 3, 2026, through May 29, 2027. Realize Bradenton's vendor map begins its date list at Oct. 17. Either way, the market is running by the time the Village's Third Saturday Market opens.

What carries the walk into December

After the Festival of the Skeletons, the downtown calendar moves back to Old Main. Realize Bradenton has scheduled Winter Wonderland for Saturday, Dec. 5, on historic Old Main Street, with holiday performances, vendors, a snow slide and a free Winter Carnival. The market adds two more Market Magic Days before the holidays: the Youth Booth Holiday Market on Dec. 12 and Mayor Santa at the Market on Dec. 19.

When this post went up, Realize Bradenton said the full weekly musician schedule for 2026–27 was still being put together. Its Music in the Park page lists only 2027 dates, so no Riverwalk concerts are posted for this fall. The Bradenton Blues Festival won't be on the December calendar either. The Herald-Tribune reported in 2024 that it had been permanently canceled.

If the Saturday plan includes a walk outdoors

Robinson Preserve is the usual fall add-on to a downtown morning, and this year it needs a check first. Manatee County's preserve page warns of temporary trail closures in October and November. Tram tours are canceled because of hurricane damage. Look at the county's Robinson Preserve page the morning you plan to go, since the notice can change week to week.

A fall Saturday downtown now goes like this. Pick up produce on Old Main starting at 9. Have a croissant at Au P'tit Bonheur. Head down to 1227 12th St. W. when the Village opens at 11 on a Third Saturday. Finish at Flamingo Bay on 14th Street West once Cottonmouth's hours are posted. Motorworks plans to return in February under new ownership. Until then, the north side of downtown has fewer places to stop after the market than it did last spring.

The new café and Cottonmouth's move change which parts of downtown Bradenton people use each weekend. Our team follows those changes block by block across the Sarasota-Manatee corridor.
